Yup - back in ol so-lame Orygun...
Looking forward to many nights of tomfoolery with the family, days of knitting, and taking in the occasional movie (that's like the sport du jour in So-Lame)
until something interesting happens... so long :) M
happy holidays... (cue cheesy bing crosby holiday tunes - or maybe a good Charlie Brown Xmas album)...
I am frantically not freaking out. Amazingly the holiday season is under control this year.
Holiday cards mailed? check.
Gifts and Presents bought? check.
Work finished for the year? almost check.
I am a bit disappointed that my initial frenzy to transition away from my current job has lost steam. People lose it in December. It's dark. We're over worked. Suddenly we are asked (required) to go to parties for work. Suddenly our social lives are revolving (required?) around work. And we wonder why we're burned out. I'm going with "it's dark".
Coming up? 8 days of sitting 'on me bum'. here's my packing list of essentials needed for those '8 days'.
Knitting needles? check
Yarn? check.
Pattern? check.
DVDs? check.
extra large jeans with 'room' for that extra helping of pumpkin pie? check.
ahhhhhhhhh home sweet home for the holidays.
Here's a flashback to summer 2006. That's me on the left, my sister next to me, and our two cousins J and A. We were all in town for grandpas 90th birthday party. This was taken in July during those crazy heatwaves that stangled the western US. We're at my Aunt and Uncle's grandiose house and property between Bend and Redmond. Isnt the color behind the mountains fantastic? Almost as awesome as my shorts and the matching shirts. :)
Today was a tough day - so this photo brings me happiness and calm. sweet, hot, July in central Oregon.
